Git – Links and more
03 Feb 2016Following a number of discussions recently on how to learn git and where to get some instructions, I decided to put together a few personal recommendations.
The possibly best book on Git is probably the Pro Git Book written by Scott Chacon and Ben Straub. It is available open source and can be bought as well.
For the more novel-esque way of learning Git, you might prefer Git In The Trenches by Peter Savage.
The best german refernce is Git-Buch by Valentin Haenel and Julius Plenz, which is available under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 since 2016,
To learn more about how Git really works, see Scott Chacon’s Git Internals.
For the vim users out there, VIMCASTS.org has videos #31 #32 #33 #34 #35 on the use of fugitive.vim.
