When one region isn’t enough: Scaling across continents

It’s one of the big selling points of the hyperscalers: You get identical computing resources wherever you want in the world. All through the very same platform with a unified user experience. This is a story of how we made use of that promise.

ScaleAQ delivers aquaculture solutions across the world. Sending data from sites all over to world to one data center and then accessing it there from a browser on that site comes with high costs in both latency and data transfer. In this talk we’ll look into how we leveraged Azure Front Door and Traefik Ingressroutes to seamlessly hide all of the complexity of scaling globally from the end-user.
